The Asian Cinema Studies Society (ACSS) and LASALLE’s Faculty of Fine Arts, Media & Creative Industries will jointly host the 13th Asian Cinema Studies Society Conference, the region’s premier international event in the discipline of Asian film.

From the perspective of music, this presentation will highlight current issues in arts education. Links will be considered between music and arts education, and the broader field of research in education. Drawing on the music, writings and practice of the Russian composer and educator Dmitri Kabalevsky, Professor David Forrest will discuss ideas around music and the arts for children. The place of the teacher is discussed along with pedagogical implications in the education and arts policy contexts.

Three programmes in the School of Creative Industries: BA(Hons) Arts Management, MA Arts and Cultural Management and MA Arts Pedagogy and Practice will showcase students' research and dissertation work through presentations.
