Frequently asked questions

Vaccination and testing
I am not fully vaccinated/will not reach full immunity by the time of my Convocation ceremony. Do I have to do Pre-Event Testing (PET)?

All unvaccinated attendees, including children, must undergo Pre-Event Testing via Antigen Rapid Testing (ART) at any of the Ministry of Health’s approved test providers.

For unvaccinated graduands attending Convocation who require PET, LASALLE will cover the full cost of the one-time Antigen Rapid Test (ART). LASALLE has appointed Minmed Group Pte Ltd to provide the ART for graduands who will be required to book an appointment online before heading to any of Minmed's clinics. Please key in the unique code 'LASALLExART' under 'Purpose of visit' during registration.

Guests can take their ART at Minmed or any of the MOH approved test providers. All guests will have to bear the cost of the ART.

Please note that the ART results have a validity of 24 hours. All guests and graduands will have to schedule their ART so that the validity covers up to the end of your ceremony. For example, if your convocation ceremony is from 5.30pm to 6.30pm on Saturday, 3 October 2021, you can only take your ART after 6.30pm on 2 October 2021 for your ART to be valid for 24 hours.

What if I’m vaccinated with vaccines other than Pfizer-BioNTech and Moderna?

Graduands and guests who have been certified by a doctor to have an allergic reaction to Pfizer-BioNTech and Moderna vaccine can take other WHO-Emergency Use Listing (WHO-EUL) vaccines approved by the Ministry of Health (e.g. Sinovac, Sinopharm, AstraZeneca, Janssen).

For individuals who are taking or have taken WHO-EUL vaccines please email alumni@lasalle.edu.sg ahead of time to submit necessary documentation from your healthcare provider, if it is not reflected in your HealthHub app. You will be required to show your vaccination report upon registration at Singapore EXPO Hall 3.

Can I use the Antigen Rapid Test (ART) self-test kit to do my own testing?

No, only Antigen Rapid Tests (ART) administered at any of the Ministry of Health's approved test providers (including LASALLE’s appointed test provider Minmed Group Pte Ltd) will be recognised for admission to the Convocation ceremonies.

What should I do if I am tested positive through the Antigen Rapid Test (ART)?

To ensure the health and safety of all attendees, if an individual is tested positive via ART, both the graduand and his/her guests will not be allowed to attend Convocation.

Attendance and venue
I have returned home to my country. Can I enter Singapore to attend my Convocation?

You should seek advice from the Immigration and Checkpoint Authority of Singapore (ICA Singapore) about entering Singapore. As the Convocation ceremonies will be live-streamed on YouTube, you will also be able to attend the event virtually.

How do I get to Singapore Expo and what should I do upon arrival?

Singapore Expo can be accessed by car or public transportation. Please refer to Singapore's Expo website for more details.

If you’re coming by MRT, enter via Singapore Expo’s main entrance beside Hall 6.

If you’re coming by car, taxi or private hire vehicles, enter by Foyer 1 beside Max Atria.

Thereafter, proceed to Hall 3 for registration. Do allow for additional time for TraceTogether check-in and registration. As the ceremony will begin on time, latecomers will not be admitted.

At the registration counters you will be asked to produce your NRIC or FIN to be scanned. This is solely for the purpose of confirming that you have RSVPEd and to confirm your vaccination report/valid negative PET tallies with the details provided.

In compliance with the Personal Data Protection Act, you will be deemed to have provided consent to the collection of your personal data for the purpose of attending this event. Your personal data will only be used to verify your vaccination status against your personal identification number, and this data will be expunged immediately after the event.

Important: If you did not RSVP before the cutoff date of 15 September 2021 for Class of 2020 and 22 September 2021 for Class of 2021, you will not be allowed to attend the Convocation even if you turn up at Singapore Expo.

How long will the Convocation ceremony last?

Each session will last approximately an hour. You are strongly advised to arrive at least one hour before the ceremony. You will also need to vacate the premises immediately after the ceremony to facilitate cleaning and disinfection for the next session.

Is the venue wheelchair-accessible?

Singapore Expo is wheelchair friendly. There will be seating arrangements - as well as access onto the stage via a wheelchair lift - made for guests who require special mobility assistance. Please write to alumni@lasalle.edu.sg if you require such special assistance.

Will Convocation proceed as planned given the rise in community infection cases?

As the health and well-being of our graduands and guests remain our top priority, we will only conduct the in-person Convocation ceremonies if it is safe to do so while complying with prevailing government guidelines and safe management measures.

Gowning and photography
Where can I collect my gown?

You will receive an email within three working days after you RSVP with details on how to rent your academic gown.

Will the gown I am wearing for the ceremony be shared with other graduands?

As part of our safety and hygiene protocol, each gown will only be worn by you and collected for dry cleaning after each session.

How do I order photographs of my Convocation ceremony?

Photographs can be ordered from our gown vendor Creative District. Please inform them that you would like to purchase your photographs when you rent your gown. They will inform you of the collection details. For further queries, please email enquiries@creativedistrict.com.sg.
