An initiative of LASALLE, ANCER – the Asia Pacific Network for Cultural Education and Research was established in 2011 to stimulate inquiry and research primarily in the field of arts/cultural management and cultural policy, and develop a platform to facilitate conversations amongst academics, intellectuals, artists, and writers in a part of the world where the arts and cultural sectors are in varying and rapid stages of development.

ANCER fulfills the objectives of sharing and disseminating knowledge through two core programmes: the ANCER Lab and bi-annual ANCER Conference. Modelled after an artist collective, ANCER aims to provide multiple sites of inquiry, entry points and exit points for a collective to meet and exchange.
