Nigel Woodford

  • Master of Arts in Sound Design from the National Film & Television School (UK)

Nigel is an internationally recognised sound designer with over 20 years of experience. Inspired by stories of the human spirit, he discovers his environment through an acute perception of sound, coloured by an intimate sense of the spiritual. He has an ability to listen beyond words and tune into layers of emotions because of a fascination and curious preoccupation with human behaviours, perspectives, habits and thinking.

Berita Harian: Duka Lara, a film about a lonely fisherman, brings a young director to Kosovo

While Nuryn Adryana Binte Abdul Halim was a student in the BA(Hons) Film programme, she acted as the director, writer and producer for the short film, Duka Lara, which made its world premiere at the International Documentary and Short Film Festival DokuFest held in Kosovo. The film tells the story of a fisherman who faces loneliness while living on a fish farm until a mystery occurs.

These are just some of the buzziest films and blockbuster franchises that Animation alumna Eunice Khoo has worked on since graduating from LASALLE in 2009. Her impressive resume includes some of the most prolific VFX houses in the Asia-Pacific region, including Wētā FX in New Zealand, Lucasfilm and Double Negative in Singapore, as well as Base FX in China.

TODAY: 23-year-old's animation about sex education in Singapore snags Yugo BAFTA Student Awards nomination

BA(Hons) Animation Art alumna Calleen Koh is the only Singaporean whose short film, To Kill The Birds and the Bees, was nominated for the Yugo BAFTA Student Awards this year. Not only was her film able to stand out from the 715 submissions BAFTA received, she was also the only Singaporean and one of a handful of Asians who were nominated.

Shin Min Daily News: Work by local young animator shortlisted for international award

BA(Hons) Animation Art alumna Calleen Koh’s short film To Kill The Birds and the Bees was nominated for the Yugo BAFTA Student Awards this year, and Shin Min Daily News sat down with her to find out more about her inspiration behind the film and views on the animation industry.

Calleen shares, “I am a little bit rebellious and find it more fun to try something which I have not tried before and hopefully in that way, push the boundaries of storytelling in the media.”
