FAQs on Student’s Pass application
Holders of a valid Long-Term Visit Pass, Dependant's Pass and Immigration Exemption Order are not required to obtain a Student's Pass to pursue full time, non-religious related studies. You may enrol in LASALLE within the duration of your existing pass. If the existing pass expires or is cancelled during the duration of your studies, you will need to inform the College and submit an application for a Student's Pass to continue your studies. The prevailing Student's Pass eligibility criteria will apply.
It depends on a number of factors, such as how promptly you submit your details online upon receiving your SOLAR+ application number, and whether you submit all the required documents to ICA on time. On average, it takes two months to get a Student’s Pass. This is why you should submit your online application as early as possible.
Note: The registration will take place no earlier than three months before the course commencement date.
You should apply for your Student’s Pass as soon as you have received your SOLAR+ application number. It may be too late if you wait till the conditions are met. If it turns out that you are unable to meet the conditions of your offer, simply inform the Division of Admissions, and we will help you withdraw your Student’s Pass application.
Note: The registration will take place no earlier than three months before the course commencement date.
Please check your application status online via the SOLAR+ website. Regardless of when your application is approved, you can only collect your Student’s Pass no earlier than one month from the course commencement date. If the application status is ‘IPA’, the Admissions Executive will email a copy of the In-Principle Approval (IPA) letter to you or appointed agent (where applicable).
Collection of the Student’s Pass is strictly by appointment. You will be required to be physically present at ICA Services Centre at Level 3 Crawford Street (207218). You are required to complete the formalities online before you can book your appointment.
Alternatively, the College may arrange a time for applicants to enroll biometrics at an offsite location in-lieu of an appointment at ICA. In this case, the College will advise applicants of the date, time and venue for this offsite enrolment. Once students have arrived in Singapore, they must report to this location as scheduled to have their biometrics enrolled.
If you have not been scheduled for any offsite enrolment, you must make an appointment to complete formalities at ICA Services Centre.
Your Student’s Pass will be issued if the conditions (if any) as stipulated in the IPA letter are fulfilled.
Apply for a new passport immediately. Please note that a valid passport with at least six months' validity is required to apply for a Student’s Pass. It is recommended that your passport remains valid for the entire duration of your studies at the Institution.
Please contact the Division of Admissions immediately. We will explore the possible reasons with you and, if possible, lodge an appeal on your behalf.
Please contact your previous school to arrange for the cancellation of your Student’s Pass. Once cancelled, you will be issued a temporary Social Visit Pass.
If you previously held a valid Student’s Pass, kindly inform the Division of Admissions at least three months before your programme begins. Please note that if your Student’s Pass renewal is approved, your medical examination (where applicable) must be completed in Singapore.
Yes, you may remain in Singapore as long as your stay is valid and legal. To avoid any potential issues, it is advisable to submit your Student’s Pass application with LASALLE via the SOLAR+ system as early as possible.
