Students from LASALLE's Faculty of Design took part in The Kizuna Project, a youth project with Asia-Oceania and North America organised by the government of Japan. The project is part of Japan’s reconstruction plans aimed at promoting global understanding of Japan’s revival efforts in response to the Great East Japan Earthquake. 

LASALLE’s Diploma in Fashion Programme teamed up with itsrainingraincoats, an initiative started by Dipa Swaminathan to distribute raincoats by migrant workers who are often seen working outdoors.

In the 2014 edition of the Art of Giving, LASALLE, in collaboration with Wheelock Properties, presented a collection of unique gifts inspired by local traditional motifs and nostalgic design icons. 

Inspired by the artworks in the galleries and the architecture of the National Gallery Singapore, final-year students from LASALLE’s Diploma in Fashion Programme designed a series of objects for Gallery & Co. 

From lifestyle to homeware products, the designer objects presented a refreshing, contemporary and playful twist to the everyday. Many of the creations were made in LASALLE workshops, silkscreened and hand-stitched in-house.

The inaugural Asian Fashion Graduate Showcase (AFGS) featured the most innovative collections by emerging graduate designers in Asia. Participating universities included Sangmyung University (South Korea), Shanghai Zhuangyuan Culture Academy of Art & Design (People’s Republic of China), De La Salle College of St. Benilde (The Philippines) and LASALLE College of the Arts (Singapore). The show saw over 80 garments on the runway vying for the ‘Best-of-Show’ award. Kim Da-Eun and Hur Hyo-Kyung from Sangmyung University won the first prize.

As part of the National Gallery Singapore’s first anniversary celebration, LASALLE presents both an exhibition and installation featuring students’ work from BA(Hons) Fashion Media and Industries, BA(Hons) Fashion Design and Textiles, and BA(Hons) Interior Design Programmes.

In 2015, LASALLE embarked upon a first-of-its-kind partnership with local retail icon TANGS to work with graduating BA(Hons) Fashion Design and Textiles students in the conceptualisation, creation and retail of ready-to-wear collections, showcased at a pop-up store in TANGS at Tang Plaza.
