ExhibitionToday’s film and media industries are constantly transforming. Innovative formats and distribution tools are enabling artists and filmmakers to create new audio-visual experiences for diverse audiences.
Disruption explores the creative potential of film and digital media through works by students from LASALLE’s Puttnam School of Film & Animation. Several works envision future worlds populated by imaginary characters. Others demonstrate students’ commitment to social issues, giving voice to marginalised communities and promoting social tolerance and empathy.

Gainax President Hiroyuki Yamaga: Japanese anime value traditional lines over technology
A Memorandum of Understanding was signed between LASALLE and Niigata University to propel discussions and projects surrounding archiving methods of animation art. One such, and the first ever in Singapore, is an exhibition – A World Is Born: Emerging Arts & Designs in 1980s Japanese Animation – that showcases conceptual sketches and notes by then-young Gainax members.
