Presents Of The Future: The Art Of Giving

Students and alumni from LASALLE’s Faculty of Design and Faculty of Fine Arts have created 14 unique gift items, showcased in “The Art of Giving” art exhibition at Scotts Square till 31 December.

Inspired by the Singapore Biennale 2013 theme “If The World Changed”, and in celebration of the holiday season, artists gazed into the future and created wearable art and lifestyle objects using materials from textiles to terracotta.

Up Close and Personal with the Stars of The Walking Dead

A zombie pandemic broke loose at LASALLE on Saturday, 11 January 2014, as stars of the hit drama series, The Walking Dead, Andrew Lincoln and Norman Reedus arrived on Singapore shores to help combat the contagious phenomenon – with students from the Faculty of Performing Arts in the thick of the action.

Oon's Big Break in Hollywood

When you watch the new Netflix series Marco Polo, you will see a Singapore face among the cast. Young Singapore actress Oon Shu An has received the biggest break of her career by landing the part of a concubine in the Asian period drama.

And she is not the only Singapore name in the series. Four other Singapore actors had speaking parts, including Tan Kheng Hua and Los Angeles- based Chin Han.

On Monday 14 April, a total of 80 inmates from Tanah Merah Prison (Prison School), Changi Women’s Prison and Changi Prison Complex Institution A4 received National Youth Achievement Awards (NYAA) at a ceremony presided over by Mr Lawrence Wong, Acting Minister for Culture, Community and Youth.

Short Film By LASALLE Alumni In Animation Festival

My World is a work that epitomises interdisciplinary collaboration between diverse individuals. The animation is a brainchild between LASALLE’s Puttnam School of Film and Animation and School of Contemporary Music, with Japanese director Miyako Makio, Singaporean producer Geraldine Toh, Vietnamese animator Nguyen Hong Ngoc Mai, and Chinese music composer Wang Jingyao comprising the team.

Making A Mark In The Design World

In an interview with Lianhe Zaobao, Drayson Phua shares that he came to LASALLE to pursue his passion for design after dropping out of a mechanical engineering course. In 2012, he started his own agency, and in 2016, he was one of the judges of the National Day logo competition. His agency was also responsible for the National Day 2016 branding and design, one of the biggest projects he has taken on to date.

Relentlessly Modern

As one of the world’s most prolific and well-travelled industrial designers, the Cairo-born, England-raised, Canada-bred and New York-based Karim Rashid – whose style has been called relentlessly modern – was in Singapore this week to conduct a masterclass at LASALLE on the future of design in the digital age, followed by a talk as part of the College’s Public Lecture Series.
