Lunchtime Concert Series - Wicked Aura

Wicked Aura is 15 years of age in 2018 and in a manner of speaking, just on the cusp of its hyperactive, mischievous, experimental and rebellious adolescent years. These noiseniks have evolved their sound into a lethal combo of Afro-Brazilian rhythms, abrasive Rock, hypnotic Dub/Reggae, bopping DrumnBass and everything in between. They have performed in countries such as Australia, UK, USA, France, South Korea, China, Indonesia, India, Spain, Malaysia, Sri Lanka and Japan. They’ve played mega festivals and small venues alike and have shared bills and stages with artists from a huge spectrum of genres.

After releasing an EP and a full-length debut album, the critically acclaimed sophomore effort, Beginning The End was released in 2017. Methodical and brazen, it is a sound that has been honed through years of musical evolution. It includes the remastered Fight (off their debut album) which was shortlisted by The BBC’s Next Big Thing in 2007. In August 2017, the band completed their Japan Tour and made their debut performance in Summer Sonic (Tokyo). From frontman Budi’s spitting vocal delivery to the sonic assault of the rhythm section, the chemistry, sound and energy of the band has to be experienced live to be believed.
