Featuring original compositions from final year students in the Popular Music Performance specialism of the BA(Hons) Music programme. The students will perform with guests that they have met through their journeys.

About the performers

Sally James, a singer-songwriter born in Yangon and raised in Singapore. She graduated with a Diploma in Music (specialising in pop vocals) from LASALLE College of the Arts and will also be graduating with a BA(Hons) Music in 2023, specialising in popular music (vocals). Sally is passionate about experimenting with different sounds and genres of music, and takes music inspiration from K-pop, indie-pop and R&B influences.

Charissa is a singer-songwriter and pianist who specialises in the pop music genre. Having had a variety of teaching experiences with children and teenagers, she is passionate about making music learning fun, enjoyable, and inspirational. Besides teaching, Charissa is consistently active at her church as a singer and keyboardist where she has also written and produced songs such as 'I'm a Child of God' and 'Overflow' which were recorded and featured in an album for children. She is currently a final year student at LASALLE College of the Arts completing her BA(Hons) Music degree.

Jiasi is a professional singer-songwriter and educator who is best known for her singles '陪伴' on Douyin and YouTube platforms with over a million viewers and is a familiar face in the xinyao music scene, which she holds great passion for. Jiasi has also performed at notable performances such as Chingay Parade Passion Art Pianist 2017, 新艺代/ New Generation album release concert 2017, Violin, Ensemble for Beauty with a Purpose gala at Resorts World Sentosa 2019, “明 天37” Xinyao Concert at Star Vista 2019 and SGSW 2019. Since 2019, in collaboration with the Ministry of Education and TCR Music, Jiasi has been involved in xinyao concert tours in 20 secondary schools and junior colleges. She is currently completing her BA(Hons) Music in LASALLE College of the Arts works as a pop vocal, singer songwriter and piano teacher at local music school TCR Music and Creatune LLP.

Jay is a professional multilingual singer, songwriter and educator. He is completing his final year of studies in the BA(Hons) Music programme at LASALLE College of the Arts. Jay was born in Singapore but grew up in Guangdong, China, where he was inspired to start singing in Mandarin and Cantonese, in addition to his English repertoire. Jay has had a strong passion for performing live to audiences since a young age which is reflected in 2014 when he decided to dedicate his full focus to music.  As a music enthusiast, his desire to perform is what drives his academic and self-directed works.

Wee Yi Xun is a drummer and educator who graduated from LASALLE College of the Arts with a Diploma in Music in 2020. Yi Xun can play a repertoire across various genres but is most passionate about jazz fusion and funk music. He draws his influences and inspiration from many great drummers such as Larnell Lewis, Yussef Dayes and Corey Fontville. Yi Xun has also performed in a number of venues such as Origin Bar in Shangri-La Hotel and Level Up at Clarke Quay, and music festivals like LASALLE Rock and Indie Festival, Ignite Music Festival 2022 at Republic Polytechnic and Baybeats 2022.


The Lunchtime Concert Series aims to provide a platform for leading creative musical figures from Singapore and overseas. With a focus on showcasing original work, the eclectic curation features a broad cross section of musical styles designed to expose LASALLE music students and the general public to both hidden and well-known talents.
