UPDATES ON COVID-19

As of November 2021, selected counter services are open. Members of the public are advised to conduct all transactions online or remotely as far as possible, or call the College before heading down in person to ensure the counter service they require is open.

For the health and safety of LASALLE staff and students, the College reserves the right to close its counters without prior notice. We apologise for any inconvenience caused.

All counter services at LASALLE’s McNally campus will resume with effect from 16 August 2021.

In light of tightened restrictions under Phase 2 (Heightened Alert) of the COVID-19 situation, all counter services at LASALLE’s McNally campus will temporarily be closed with effect from 17 May 2021 until further notice.

In line with the government’s directive to step up precautionary measures on the COVID-19 situation, LASALLE’s McNally and Winstedt campuses are temporarily closed with effect from 8 April. This includes all service counters, galleries, performance spaces, learning spaces, studios, workshops and the library. Lowercase café will be open for takeaways only.

• In view of the heightened risk of imported COVID-19 cases, Singaporeans are advised to defer all travel abroad with immediate effect. This supercedes the earlier advisory to defer only non-essential travel.
• In addition, from 20 March 2020, 2359 hours, all Singaporeans, Permanent Residents, Long Term Pass holders and short-term visitors entering Singapore from any country will be issued a 14-day Stay-Home Notice (SHN). This is an expansion from the earlier advisory covering China, France, Germany, Iran, Italy, Republic of Korea and Spain.
• As announced previously, short-term visitors with recent travel history to mainland China, France, Germany, Iran, Italy, Republic of Korea and Spain are not allowed to enter or transit in Singapore.

With the escalating spread of the COVID-19 pandemic worldwide, the Multi-Ministry Taskforce has introduced more precautionary measures to prevent the importation of the virus to Singapore.

• From 16 March 2020, 23:59 hours, all travellers (including Singapore Residents, Long Term Pass holders, and short-term visitors) entering Singapore with recent travel history to ASEAN countries, Japan, Switzerland, or the United Kingdom within the last 14 days will be issued with a 14-day Stay-Home Notice (SHN).
• As previously announced, residents and long-term pass holders returning from mainland China (outside Hubei province), Iran, Italy, France, Germany, Republic of Korea and Spain will continue to be issued a 14-day SHN upon return to Singapore, while short-term visitors from these areas will not be allowed to enter or transit through Singapore.
• All Singapore residents are also advised to defer all non-essential travels to any country for the next 30 days.
• In addition, the Ministry of Education has directed Institutes of Higher Learning to recall all students on international exchanges back to Singapore with immediate effect. LASALLE College of the Arts is currently in the process of contacting its exchange students and assisting them with travel arrangements back to Singapore.

With effect from 15 March 23:59 hours, new visitors who have been to Italy, Spain, France and Germany in the last 14 days will be denied entry into or transit through Singapore. These new travel restrictions are in addition to the earlier ones covering China, Republic of Korea, Northern Italy and Iran.

What this means for LASALLE:

• All College travel for staff and students to China, Republic of Korea, Iran, Italy, Spain, France and Germany will be suspended with immediate effect until further notice.
• All staff and students are advised to defer non-essential personal travels to China, Republic of Korea, Iran, Italy, Spain, France and Germany.
• From 15 March, 2359 hours, all returning staff and students with recent travel history to the countries above within the last 14 days will be issued with a Stay-Home Notice (SHN).
• Under the SHN, all returning residents and students will have to remain in their place of residence at all times for a 14-day period after returning to Singapore. Failure to comply may lead to prosecution under the Infectious Diseases Act.

In view of the surge in the number of confirmed cases around the world, further precautionary measures have been put into place to limit the risk that these affected regions may pose to Singapore. This means:

• All staff and students are advised to defer non-essential travel to Iran, northern Italy, Japan and the Republic of Korea. All staff and student exchanges or collaborative projects involving travel to/from these countries are suspended with immediate effect until further notice.
• All new visitors with recent travel history to Iran, northern Italy or the Republic of Korea within the last 14 days will not be allowed entry into Singapore, or transit through Singapore.
• All returning residents and students with recent travel history to Iran, northern Italy or the Republic of Korea within the last 14 days will be issued with a Stay-Home Notice (SHN). This is an expansion of the current restriction which covers China as well as Daegu and Cheongdo in the Republic of Korea.
• Under the SHN, all returning residents and students will have to remain in their place of residence at all times for a 14-day period after returning to Singapore. Failure to comply with this may lead to prosecution under the Infectious Diseases Act.

With the escalation of infected cases in the Republic of Korea (South Korea), the Ministry of Health has extended the Stay-Home Notice (SHN) to cover Daegu city and Cheongdo county.

All visitors with a travel history to these places and mainland China within the last 14 days will not be allowed to enter or transit through Singapore. Returning citizens or long term pass holders (permanent residents, employment pass or student pass holders) will automatically be placed on SHN upon arrival in Singapore.

All academic and student exchanges to the Republic of Korea will be suspended for the time being. Staff and students are advised to defer all non-essential travel to China and the Republic of Korea until further notice.

• Check your temperature at stations set up across the campus on weekdays.
• On weekends, temperature screening will be conducted in the café.
• Display your temperature verification sticker clearly when ordering meals.
• If you are feeling unwell, please refrain from dining at the café.
• Wash your hands with soap and water before consuming meals.
• You are encouraged to takeaway your meal. A free cup of home brewed iced lemon tea will be given with every takeaway order.

Temperature taking

• Take your temperature before leaving the house. If you are unwell, please see a doctor immediately and avoid contact with others.
• All students, staff and visitors to LASALLE must proceed to the following venues for temperature screening from 8am–8pm daily:
  • Block E, Level 1, Reception
  • Pathway area between Block C and Block D
  • Block H, Level 1, Campus Green
• Temperature screening stickers must be clearly displayed at all times.

Leave of absence
Students and staff who have recently travelled to any part of China will be granted Leave of Absence (LOA) for 14 days from the time you arrived back in Singapore. If you are sharing accommodation with someone who has travelled to China, the LOA will also apply to you. 

Events and activities at LASALLE
All events and activities involving more than 25 participants will be cancelled or postponed until further notice.

Be socially responsible
Stay vigilant, be socially responsible and practise good personal hygiene to safeguard the community.

• Students and staff are required to declare their travel details made since 14 January (including the Chinese New Year period) and all future travel plans from now till 31 March 2020 (inclusive) via the Travel Declaration Google form.
• Students and staff who have travelled to any part of China (excluding Hong Kong, Macau and Taiwan) during the Chinese New Year break will be granted Leave of Absence (LOA) for 14 days from the time you arrived back in Singapore.
• For students and staff who have not travelled to China but are sharing accommodation with others who have travelled to China, the 14 days compulsory leave of absence would also apply to you, unless you find alternate accommodation for this period.
• Students and staff on LOA will have to stay away from the College.
• Students and staff who have returned from China are to monitor and take their temperature daily.
• Students and staff who feel unwell should seek medical attention immediately and inform the doctor of your travel history.
• All service counters in the College will have stock of face masks and hand sanitisers for your use.
