Storytelling has been around for centuries and in recent years, the audience emphasis has shifted from children to adults. One tell-tale sign of this was the quick sold-out seats to MA Arts Pedagogy and Practice (MA APP) Programme Leader Dr Edmund Chow’s recent workshop at StoryFest. The annual event that celebrates the art form in all its iterations is organised by The Storytelling Centre Limited, which is helmed by MA APP alumna and Singapore's leading storytelling expert Kamini Ramachandran. She shared that with the proliferation of information in today’s era, the telling of compelling stories is thus an effective solution for brands to stand out and be remembered.

Beyond the corporate world, LASALLE’s MA Art Therapy alumna Rachel Yang also employs the technique during counselling sessions with her clients. She details just how she goes about using stories and play to help others see beyond their usual perspective.
