As a pioneer in office solutions, Vanguard Interiors is recognised for enhancing organisational workflow and collaborative interactions through its high-quality furnishings.

Sound pollution is an increasing issue in the workplace that hampers productivity levels. With that in mind, Vanguard Interiors challenged students from LASALLE’s School of Spatial and Product Design to develop a range of acoustic panels for communal spaces.

After considering and prototyping many proposed innovative ideas, Kennerve Tan’s design stood out as the winning entry. The BA(Hons) Product Design student created 'Pointe', a lightweight acoustic shield that can be placed over a desk or focus space, softening sound and reducing reverberations to promote mental concentration.

“Being involved in such projects exposes us to industry standards, builds up our portfolio and offers opportunities for future internships or employment. Working with tight deadlines also pushes me to make crucial and timely decisions on the end product, encouraging me to take ownership of my design choices,” said Kennerve.
