This is the launch event for Embodied performativity in Southeast Asia: Multidisciplinary corporealities, edited by Dr Stephanie Burridge with chapters by Dr Elizabeth de Roza and Shelly Quick; Dr Timothy O’Dwyer, Susan Sentler and Glenna Batson; Dinu Bodiciu, Dr Clare Veal and Dr Darren Moore.

This eclectic monograph investigates corporealities across diverse arts practice – dance, music, fashion, visual and performance art. Unifying the essays in this monograph is the body and the responses it provokes. The six essays reposition the corporealities and challenge parameters through embodied performativity across diverse disciplines. Biological function, extrinsic illumination through shadows, poetics evoking memory fields as a depository for embodied meaning and cultural specificity through time, space and place collide – the possibilities flow in a continuum.

There will be an opening address by Professor Steve Dixon, President of LASALLE College of the Arts, followed by discussion and Q&A with the chapter authors.
