Marvel and Disney animator
Jake Parker is a comics short-story creator, concept artist, illustrator and animator. His movie credits include blockbusters such as Epic, Rio, Ice Age: Dawn of the Dinosaurs, Horton Hears a Who! and Titan A.E.. He is also the founder of Inktober, a yearly celebration of ink drawing that started in October 2009 and has now become a global phenomenon.
The acclaimed cartoonist and illustrator spent a week at LASALLE in June 2015, conducting workshops and masterclasses with Animation students. “The comic and animation scene in Singapore is ripe for something big. Singapore has the groundwork laid to be a contender with other Asian countries like Japan and Korea, especially at LASALLE – I look at these students’ artwork and I see what they’re doing – it’s amazing, it’s world-class.” said Jake.
