It took several stints in prison for Rahman Sanip to discover his artistic talent and thanks to the support of Dr S Chandrasekaran, LASALLE’s Head of the McNally School of Fine Arts, as well as the Yellow Ribbon Project, he is now pursuing a Diploma in Fine Arts education. The former drug addict is grateful for the second chance in life and is looking forward to a career as an art teacher or display artist.
“The philosophy of our founder Brother McNally is that no student should be disadvantaged. As an educator, I can sense that Rahman is very committed and will do very well in his life,” shared Dr Chandrasekaran. Beyond accepting Rahman into the College even when the application window had already closed, Dr Chandrasekaran also assisted the mature student with obtaining sponsors for his daily living allowance.
