One of Wan Razaly's fondest memories of his audio production journey is taking a photo with his favourite singer, Birdy, at a live concert where he was behind the sound controls.

During his time as a LASALLE Diploma in Audio Production student, Wan's work experience at a local sound engineering company that provided audio services to large-scale concerts gave him the chance to meet with stars such as Selena Gomez, Panic! At The Disco, Weezer and Charlie Puth.

“Everything seemed to happen in my daydreams. Never did I expect to see Selena walk in front of me in such close proximity as she headed off to stage. Later, I mustered up the courage to call out to Birdy and request to take a photograph with her.

“My mission is to make sure the concert really comes alive. Despite playing a small role behind the scenes, audio work is also important because without it, the concert experience is hard to enjoy,” Wan added.

His sentiments are echoed by his classmate Emmireen Norman, who has been playing music since he was 13. Emmireen's love for music led him to become intrigued by what goes into the production of sounds and rhythms.

“My passion for music has started to go in a different direction because I am now more sensitive to the process of producing a song, not just singing or playing music alone,” said Emmireen, who aspires to become a sound designer and is currently working on his band's next album.
