Marina Bay’s annual sustainable lights festival returns for a special edition to celebrate Singapore’s 200th year since her founding. Of the 32 art installations on display along the waterfront from 28 January to 24 February, one of them is by BA(Hons) Fine Arts students Foo Hui Wen, Lim Yu Zhi and R.Yashini.
Titled Cosmic Web, this installation made entirely from fluorescent fishing line aims to convey that regardless of time, Singaporeans are always connected by communal bonds. Student Foo Hui Wen and BA(Hons) Fine Arts Programme Leader Hazel Lim-Schlegel shared with news correspondents on the conceptualisation process of the work.
