Art fest features 70-metre mural

Excitement abounds as interdisciplinary arts festival ARTWALK Little India kicks off across two weekends in January. There are many brand new offerings visitors can expect in this edition, such as a storytelling session that combines music and folk painting and an ambitious mural painting that stretches 70 metres long.

Chairman of the Little India Shopkeepers & Heritage Association (LISHA) Rajakumar Chandra, who is a partner of the festival, shared “Such murals add beauty to the area and attract tourists.” BA(Hons) Arts Management student T. Sangitha, who is part of the festival’s organising team, further added that art is a vehicle to tell stories of history and culture, and hopes that visitors can discover more of the neighbourhood beyond its food fare.
