You Are My Needle, I Am Your Thread (A dramatised reading)

Pa is growing old. George, his son, wishes to bring him to Christ, before it is too late. A tender and meditative look at father-son relationships, You Are My Needle, I Am Your Thread explores the slippages of memories, songs, the stories we tell and what we leave unsaid.

Co-written by Faith Ng and Alvin Lim, You Are My Needle, I Am Your Thread was first staged at Checkpoint Theatre's What I Love About You Is Your Attitude Problem as part of the Singapore Writers Festival 2015. 
 
You Are My Needle, I Am Your Thread is directed by Chen Yingxuan, and performed in Mandarin, English and Hokkien by Johnny Ng and Neo Hai Bin. English subtitles will be provided.

This reading is presented by Checkpoint Theatre for the MA Creative Writing Programme.
 

About the Artist-in-Residence:

Faith Ng is a playwright, educator, and Associate Artistic Director of Checkpoint Theatre. Her plays include A Good Death (2018), Normal (2015, 2017), For Better or for Worse (2013), and wo(men) (2010). Her collection of plays, Faith Ng: Plays Volume 1 was published in 2016 and she was conferred NAC’s Young Artist Award in 2018.
