Lecture / TalkA conversation between Patricia Chen and Cecily Cheo about their experiences as two independent researchers navigating the high and choppy seas of the art world. How does one get started, sustain curiosity, stamina, focus and liquidity when faced wth a myriad of institutional constraints, funding uncertainties and other obstacles that crop up in the path of the independent researcher? We invite you to join us as we share our experiences and hard-gained insights.
About the presenters
Patricia Chen is a writer with a camera, and she points it at a subject close to her heart: visual arts. She writes on art scenes and produces independent films on significant collections of art in Asia.
Cecily Cheo is a painter, writer and art educator living and working between Malacca and Singapore, with an idiosyncratic take on research.
