Obsessions marks Janet Teoh's first major solo exhibition, showcasing the conceptual development and making of body ornaments, and wearable art made over the past 25 years. Central to Teoh's artistic practice, this exhibition makes aware the origins, processes and history of wearable art. Through innovative fabrication methods that combine a diverse range of materials – textiles (nylon, felt, wool) papers (brown craft paper, construction paper), plastic (acrylic) and metals (copper, stainless steel, aluminium, silver, gold) –, Teoh creates dynamic sculptural forms that bridge contemporary art, fashion and jewellery.

Janet Teoh received a Masters of Fine Art in Gold and Silversmith from the Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology. She developed and taught the jewellery design programme at LASALLE from 1994 to 2007 and is currently a Programme Leader in LASALLE's School of Creative Industries. With many years of experience as a studio-practising artist, she has participated in exhibitions both locally and internationally.
