The Museum as Area for Action 
Fu Liaoliao is a curator based in Shanghai. She joined McaM in 2015 as the head of curatorial department, where she initiated the Archive Center of Performing Arts. She curated and co-curated exhibitions include Why the performance? 2016; Precariat’s meeting 2017; One or several works: solo exhibition of Ho Tzu Nyen 2018. Her curatorial practice focusses on the function of the museum as a public space and often comprises projects with live and time-based works. Fu Liaoliao’s talk will present how Ming Contemporary Art Museum (McaM) is the only institution dedicated to performance in China and discuss the challenges of working with different publics and artists’ interpretations of embodiment and transmission.
