Touching Moments #4 - Art Therapy is a community open art studio event at LASALLE that celebrates 'Touch' – the theme of this year's Enabling Festival.

Participants are invited to create a personalised artwork either on their own and/or with their loved ones. The aim of this workshop is to bring people from across communities together to creatively engage in a meaningful activity that gently and respectfully initiates reflection around important aspects of caring for others living with dementia. The workshop also calls on everyone in the community to acknowledge the power of being connected and rekindle our passion for others with dignity, creativity and art-making.

This art-based community workshop is structured in an open art studio format and will be facilitated by the MA Art Therapy students at LASALLE. This workshop is designed to be inclusive, positive and welcoming.

Note for participants:

  • Participants may take home the artwork created at this event.
  • Participants may opt to have their artwork photographed and archived by the organisers of this event and their collaborative partners for other purposes including ongoing public awareness and education, as part of potential research and/or publication. Any photographs of participants' artworks and/or testimonies provided by participants about the event will be handled with the utmost respect.
