ReadingBalli Kaur Jaswal's writing has been published in the UK Sunday Express, Cosmopolitan Magazine, The New York Times, Harpers Bazaar and Best Australian Short Stories. Jaswal was the recipient of the Sydney Morning Herald Best Young Australian Novelist Award for her debut novel Inheritance, and her second novel Sugarbread was shortlisted for the Epigram Books Fiction Prize. Translation rights for her most recent novel, Erotic Stories for Punjabi Widows, have been sold in over ten territories, and the film rights were acquired by director Ridley Scott.
A graduate of The Iowa Writers’ Workshop and former director The Nonfiction Writing Program at The University of Iowa, Prof. Robin Hemley is currently the Director of the Writing Program and Writers’ Centre at Yale-NUS. He has published 12 books of fiction and nonfiction, and his work has won many awards, including a Guggenheim Fellowship, three Pushcart Prizes. His stories and essays have been appeared in The Pushcart Prize Anthology, The New York Times, Conjunctions, Ploughshares, etc. His 12 books include the memoirs Do-Over and Nola: A Memoir of Faith, Art, and Madness.
