LASALLE College of the Arts, together with the National Arts Council (NAC), is organising free bite-sized capsule courses in arts management which aim to equip participants with practical tools and knowledge, as well as an understanding of the principles that underpin these arts management practices. The aim is for participants to leave with enhancements to their own ‘toolkits’ for practical implementation and problem solving.

Audiences in the Arts 1 (online)
The first workshop to run in the capsule series, this two-day beginner level workshop is for artists, arts managers and administrators.

Who is your audience? What do we know about them? How do we attract new people to come to our shows/buy our art? This short course introduces you to the range of ways to develop audiences in the arts, from audience segmentation to acquiring better market intelligence.

Through case studies and international comparisons, the application of theory and practical experience, participants will acquire newfound knowledge about audience engagement strategies and acquire basic tools to think more critically about their own audiences.

On completion of this course, participants will be able to:
a. Understand the basic principles of audience development and engagement.
b. Apply tools that can be used for audience analysis.

Who should attend:
This beginner course is suitable for artists, arts managers and administrators from a variety of organisations and enterprises.

Priority will be given to Singapore citizens and permanent residents, who are self-employed persons or employees of arts organisations in Singapore.

*The workshop will be conducted through live streamed teaching via Zoom or other online platforms. All participants are required to have internet access, a device with audio and video capabilities, PDF reader, Microsoft Office (such as Word & Excel) or similar software which facilitates writing.

To register, submit an online application here. Limited places available.
