Speakers: Robert Anthony Siegel, Dr Barrie Sherwood and Elaine Chew

Enjoy this reading of short fiction and memoir by three accomplished prose writers, each of whom has lived on at least two different continents.

Robert Anthony Siegel is the author of a memoir Criminals: My Family’s Life on Both Sides of the Law. He has also published two novels, All Will Be Revealed and All the Money in the World. His fiction and essays have appeared in The New York Times, The Los Angeles Times, Smithsonian, The Oxford American, and The Paris Review, and have won Pushcart and O. Henry Prizes.

Dr Barrie Sherwood’s publications include the novels The Pillow Book of Lady Kasa and Escape from Amsterdam, and the short story collection, The Angel Tiger. His fiction and non-fiction works have been published in journals in the UK, Japan, Canada, Singapore and Australia. He has been the Assistant Professor in the School of Humanities at NTU since 2013.

Elaine Chiew is the author of the story collection The Heartsick Diaspora and editor of Cooked Up: Food Fiction From Around the World. She is a two-time winner of the Bridport Short Story Competition. Originally from Malaysia, she graduated from Stanford Law School and worked as a lawyer in New York and Hong Kong before graduating with an MA in Asian Art Histories from LASALLE.
