New! [Online] Analysing Movies like a Pro

Have you ever felt a strong urge to explain why you did or didn’t like a movie, but couldn’t express yourself?

This course gives an overview of how a movie’s story is constructed, how roles are cast, as well as what goes on during filming and editing. It examines how and why audiences feel something amiss when certain stages of making the film are compromised.

It also dives deeper into iconic Singaporean, Hollywood and other movies, as well genres like action, horror, comedy and romance, examining how and why certain movies succeed and fail. Along the way, budding storytellers will pick up the basics of how to turn a compelling story into a feasible movie.
