McNally School of Fine Arts (MSoFA) Alumni Grants

The McNally School of Fine Arts recognises the importance of supporting our alumni by providing a funding infrastructure that will empower them to be actively engaged in one or more of the following endeavours:

  •  Sustaining research and practice knowledge
  •  Encouraging production of, presentation of and participation in the arts
  •  Networking and professional development

EXTERNAL GRANTS

National Heritage Board (NHB)

1. Heritage Participation Grant

The grant supports applicants who wish to start community heritage projects that fall within any of these categories: Exhibition, Publication, Programmes and Events

2. Heritage Project Grant

The grant aims to provide a higher level of support for projects with the potential to make a significant and lasting contribution to Singapore’s heritage scene. It also encourages a stronger and more sustained ground ownership of heritage projects.

Examples of projects that are eligible for funding include, but are not limited to, permanent/long term exhibitions, publications and heritage festivals. NHB will review submitted applications on a case-by-case basis and applicants are encouraged to find the most innovative and effective ways to preserve and present our community heritage.

3. Heritage Research Grant

The grant aims to encourage institutes of higher learning, think tanks, heritage NGOs, academics and researchers to embark on heritage-related research and/or technology-based projects for the documentation and preservation of Singapore’s heritage.

4. National Monuments Fund

The fund is a co-funding scheme that supports eligible National Monuments in their effort to maintain and restore their buildings. Special attention is paid to structural repair and other critical works to ensure good preservation practice.

National Arts Council

1. Seed Grant

The grant aims to help kick-start new or emerging not-for-profit arts organisations' programmes and projects, and to formalise their operations.

2. Major Company Scheme

The scheme supports the professional and artistic development of registered arts organisations in their endeavour to be hallmarks of artistic excellence in Singapore.

3. Creation Grant

The grant supports the creation, adaptation and re-development of distinctive Singapore-made artistic works.

4. Production Grant

The grant supports the production, presentation and marketing costs of projects from a wide range of genres.

5. Presentation and Participation Grant

The grant aims to enable a wide range of arts practitioners and organisations to express and enrich our artistic diversity, as well as increase arts appreciation and participation in Singapore.

6. Market and Audience Development

This grant supports activities to build audiences, patrons and supporters to complement artistic efforts at home and abroad.

National Youth Council

1. National Youth Fund (Youth Month Edition)

Youth Month celebrates the spirit and values of our Singaporean youths. It showcases youth aspirations and interests, appreciate youth resilience, and applaud their positive contributions in making Singapore an endearing home. If you are planning to organise an event and celebrate youth talents in conjunction with Youth Month (July) 2019, we invite you to submit proposals that embody the spirit of passion, dynamism and the freedom to dream big.

2. National Youth Fund (SG Youth Cares Edition)

3. National Youth Fund (Future-ready Youths)

This funds aims to help Not for Profit Organizations, Schools and Institutes of Higher Learning, and Social Enterprises to advance financial literacy among youths, equip them with skills or tools to improve mental well-being and prepare them for the workforce.

4. Singapore-ASEAN Youth Fund

The fund aims to promote greater interaction among ASEAN youth. It supports projects which foster unity and forge friendship among ASEAN youths, and increase awareness and understanding of ASEAN culture.

5. Young ChangeMakers

This grant scheme supports youth-initiated projects that benefit the Singapore community and society. It also helps to empower youths as decision makers to evaluate projects and mentor project applicants.

6. Youth Expedition Project

The initiative aims to nurture confident and resilient youths who are active citizens with the desire to make a difference both at home and overseas. It is also a grant which supports youths from educational institutions and registered organisations to embark on the expedition project.

Infocomm Media Development Authority (IMDA)

Enterprises

1. AI Business Partnership Programme

To encourage and facilitate AI adoption among businesses in Singapore to transform businesses, IMDA is implementing an AI Business Partnership Programme (AIBPP), a guided process to pair local companies with potential problem statements with AI solutions providers.

2. Cloud

IMDA's cloud vision is to sharpen the overall economic competiveness of Singapore through catalysing demand and adoption in key industry verticals, as well as driving the creation of new products to address business needs and developing manpower capabilities.

3. Infocomm-Workforce

Guided by the Infocomm Manpower Development Roadmap v2.0, IMDA seeks to develop talent with deep infocomm skills and the ability to exploit infocomm for sectoral transformation.

4. New Talent Feature Grant

Singapore Film Commission provides funding for directors to produce their first or second feature films.

5. Development Assistance

Good ideas and stories are important as a first step to any strong media product or offering. IMDA helps companies come up with compelling stories and ideas that can be developed and subsequently, be ready for production.

6. Production Assistance

Production Assistance encourages media productions that highlight Singapore talents in credited roles. IMDA will support up to 40% of a project’s qualifying expenses that are directly linked to the project and contribute significantly to the development of Singapore.

7. Marketing Assistance

Marketing Assistance helps media companies market their productions to their target audience and grow overseas demand for Singapore-produced content.

8. Talent Assistance

Talent Assistance provides funding support for the capability development of media practitioners, in line with IMDA’s policy intent to grow a strong Singapore core of media talents in a flourishing media industry.

Individuals

1. Research Grants

The Academic Engagement Programme is an initiative by IMDA to support media-related research projects that add value to IMDA's work in policy formation and industry development.

2. National Cybersecurity Postgraduate Scholarship (NCPS)

NCPS is offered jointly by IMDA and the National Cybersecurity R&D Programme hosted at National Research Foundation. The NCPS seeks to develop knowledge and skills in infocomm security expertise and groom leaders in this field. It is a prestigious scholarship for graduates and working professionals who are keen to contribute and commit to the protection of Singapore's cyberspace. Successful scholarship applicants may pursue their Masters (either through coursework or research) and/or Doctoral degrees (i.e. PhD), locally or overseas.

3. Infocomm Polytechnic Scholarship (IPS)

The bond-free IPS seeks to develop and better equip good 'O' level achievers taking infocomm courses with the relevant skill sets and competencies.

4. National Infocomm Competition (NIC)

NIC is a series of infocomm-themed competitions to expose students to areas such as programming, mobile application development, networking, games design and data analytics. The NIC supports quality and impactful competitions that seek to deepen students’ engagement and ICT skills in the areas of Build, Secure and Analyse. It is one of the most prestigious and largest network of ICT competitions in Singapore.

5. National Infocomm Scholarship (NIS)

NIS aims to develop talent and nurture future leaders to help drive Singapore's infocomm industry. NIS provides both the prestige of a government scholarship and valuable private sector work exposure. It allows scholars to chart their career paths according to their aspirations and interests.

6. Infocomm Clubs Programme (ICS)

ICS is a Co-Curricular Activity for primary, secondary and junior college students. It aims to excite students about infocomm in a fun and meaningful way by helping them to learn new infocomm skills and to cultivate leadership and entrepreneurship capabilities at an early age.

7. Industry Preparation for Pre-graduate (iPREP) Programme

The programme aims to prepare and equip pre-graduates with relevant skill sets and work experience to ensure a pipeline of industry-ready graduates. Pre-graduates will have opportunities to attain industry certifications, work on infocomm projects and interact with industry experts.

8. Film Mentorship Initiative

Singapore Film Commission also funds the cost of fees, travel and accommodation for media professionals in the film sector who have already gained admission into a renowned international film project lab.

12. SkillsFuture Study Awards for Media Sector

The awards equip Singaporeans with the skills needed to benefit from quality jobs created by our economy.

13. MOOC Pilot for Data Sciences and Analytics Training

To complement the development of Singapore manpower for Data Sciences & Analytics, the Data Sciences training course with Coursera will commence on 4th August 2014 with an enrollment of 200 Singaporeans that are interested in developing and/or enhancing data sciences skills.

14. National Infocomm Competency Framework (NICF)

NICF is a national infocomm roadmap that helps infocomm professionals and employers to determine the types of skills and competencies required for various infocomm jobs, and develop training strategies to acquire these skills.

15. Tech Immersion and Placement Programme (TIPP)

TIPP is an initiative by IMDA to convert non-ICT professionals, especially graduates from Science, Technology, Engineering and Math (STEM) background or other disciplines, into industry ready ICT professionals. They will be placed into tech roles after undergoing an immersive training course or a mentorship and coaching programme delivered by industry practitioners.

16. Company Led Training Programme (CLT)

CLT is a structured development programme that aims to enable fresh and mid-level professionals to acquire specialist, expert or mastery-level competencies for jobs in demand by the industry, especially those that support Smart Nation projects, including cyber security, data analytics, software development, Internet of Things and network and communications platforms.

17. Critical Infocomm Technology Resource Programme Plus (CITREP+)

CITREP+ supports local professionals in keeping pace with technology shifts through continuous and proactive training. Through continuous up-skilling, fresh professionals and mid-career professionals may acquire or enhance technical skills sets which will enable them to remain relevant and productive in their careers.

18. SkillsFuture Study Award for the ICT Sector

The award encourages Singaporeans to take ownership of their own skills upgrading, in order to deepen specialist skills needed by future economic growth sectors. Individuals who are keen to acquire new and/or deepen their tech skills and make a mark as an ICT specialist will stand to benefit from this award.

Small and Medium Enterprises

1. SMEs Go Digital

The programme aims to help SMEs use digital technologies, build strong digital capabilities and participate in the Digital Economy.

2. Fibre Ready Scheme

The scheme is applicable to non-residential buildings. Over the past few years, fibre take-up by non-residential users has risen steadily, and has exceeded 85% as at April 2017.

PIXEL Labs (formerly IDA Labs) have been nurturing our talent to create and build a host of ground-breaking products and solutions as part of Singapore’s Smart Nation drive to address real-world challenges both locally and globally. With the restructuring of IDA and MDA into the IMDA in 2016, the IMDA oversees the operations of IDA Labs today.
