The Goh Chok Tong Youth Promise Award (GCTYPA) was mooted by Malay/Muslim leaders in honour of then Senior Minister Goh Chok Tong, and introduced in February 2005. The award aims to provide inspiration to the community by recognising Malay/Muslim youths who can be role models in the community, as well as encourage Malay/Muslim youths to realise and develop their potential in diverse fields beyond traditional academic areas.
