Erzan lectures with the McNally School of Fine Arts and currently oversees the Diploma in Fine Arts programme.

He obtained his Diploma in Fine Arts from LASALLE-SIA College of the Arts, when he was awarded the outstanding student award in fine arts. He then pursued his BA in Contemporary Art at the University of Tasmania, where he was admitted to the Dean's Roll of Excellence.
He later attained an MA in Fine Arts at LASALLE College of the Arts, conferred by The Open University in 2008.

Among Erzan’s many artistic accolades are the Philip Morris Art Award in 2001-2002, the UOB Painting of the Year Award in 2001, and the Goh Chok Tong Youth Promise Award in 2006. As an artist, curator or consultant, he has been actively contributing to various exhibitions over the years, most recently as a resident artist in OH! Open House’s inaugural Associate Artist Programme in 2022-2023, during which he engaged with the invisible communities of Kampong Gelam to recast overlooked and marginalised stories of the neighbourhood into a social practice project that resulted in an illustrated risalah.

Erzan is interested in definitions of the self in the context of abstraction, often through resonant juxtapositions of image and text that explore ideas of translation, identity, dis/location and social responsibility.
