CNA938: From Our Shores to the World: Echoes of the Bay
Echoes of the Bay is a unique participatory virtual reality (VR) ‘living story’ project helmed by LASALLE BA (Hons) Arts Management Programme Leader Associate Professor Natalia Grincheva and alumnus and artist Benedict Yu.
The project will be presented at the prestigious Ars Electronica Festival 2026 in Linz, Austria, where visitors will be able to explore a virtual archipelago of 60 story-boats, which share participants’ anecdotes of movement, migration and belonging.
In this interview, Dr Natalia talks about digital heritage, the transformative medium of VR memory-embodying and how the project has been integral to teaching students about creative leadership.
