Lianhe Zaobao: A retrospective narrated by the artist; revisiting the artistic path of Chua Ek Kay
The Clarity After (一雨净虚空) is a major retrospective honouring Cultural Medallion recipient Chua Ek Kay (1947–2008), one of Singapore’s most notable contemporary artists and a distinguished alumnus of LASALLE.
Showcasing 50 paintings from a significant private collection on display to the public for the first time, it allows visitors to step into the artist’s mind to understand his creative process and his lifelong search for a visual language.
Lianhe Zaobao speaks with exhibition curator Patricia Ong and LASALLE Senior Fellow Milenko Prvački to find out more about the exhibition and Chua Ek Kay’s life as an artist and educator.
