Lianhe Zaobao: From frame-by-frame animation to competing for international awards, Singaporean animation hopes to cultivate local IP through “storytellers”
Lianhe Zaobao explores the animation industry in Singapore, speaking with lecturer Ang Qing Sheng on how LASALLE’s animation programmes have evolved.
Qing Sheng shares that in response to the disruption brought about by artificial intelligence, LASALLE has continued to emphasise core human skills over the teaching of software. He explained: “Technology will always change, but imagination, storytelling and the ability to conceive ideas remain constant.”
