As a member of the pioneer generation of Singaporean singers to successfully break into the international market, Kit Chan made her mark in the competitive Taiwanese market with her hit Mandarin album Heartache <<心痛>> in 1994. 

Besides excelling in her singing career, Kit has proven to be successful in both theatre and television dramas. She took on lead roles in the Hong Kong musical Snow.Wolf.Lake with Jacky Cheung, The Legend (where she played the late Teresa Teng), and Forbidden City: Portrait of An Empress (where she played the young Empress Dowager Cixi). Kit has also played the lead in the Dutch-Hong Kong production of East Meets West and the Taiwanese musical What's Love Got to Do with It?.

Kit was also a member of the cast of Healing Hands II (2000), the sequel to Hong Kong’s TVB hit medical drama Healing Hands and the female lead in Singapore Press Holding’s MediaWorks Channel U drama serial Cash is King.
