An active participant in the growing film community in Singapore, Boo Junfeng has become one of the nation’s prolific short filmmakers in recent years.

Junfeng’s films have been accorded the four main awards at the Silver Screen Awards of the annual Singapore International Film Festival (SIFF). In 2005, he received Best Film and Special Achievement Award for Un Retrato De Familia (A Family Portrait), a film screened under the World Premiere category at the 18th SIFF. At the 21st SIFF in April 2008, he clinched a triple-win for Best Film, Best Director and Best Cinematography for Keluar Baris (Homecoming). He was also one of seven directors of the omnibus feature film Lucky 7, an experimental film project promoting collaboration among filmmakers in Singapore.

In August 2008, all of Junfeng’s short films were showcased at Hong Kong’s InDPanda International Short Film Festival in its Focus on New Talent programme. He was the first filmmaker outside of Hong Kong to be featured under the programme.

His upcoming projects include a debut feature proposal selected for the 11th edition of the Busan Promotion Plan in October 2008, organised by the prestigious Busan International Film Festival, South Korea.

Junfeng is currently a director with Zhao Wei Films, an independent film production house helmed by internationally acclaimed Singaporean director-producer Eric Khoo.
