Event details

LASALLE College of the Arts celebrates Singapore Design Week 2024 with PROBES-INTENT, featuring four special exhibitions which present the ingenuity lens and transformational capacities of design.

The exhibitions explore the ‘what ifs’ and ‘why nots’–teasing new ideas, new provocations and new questions on the future possibilities in design.

At Earl Lu Gallery, 19 Sep–12 Oct

Well-being Reimagined
This exhibition explores how our domestic spaces can evolve to nurture holistic well-being. This forward-thinking showcase delves into the intersection of sensory experiences, cherished memories and vibrant social connections, all within the context of the future home.

At Gallery 1, 19 Sep–23 Oct

Echoes for Tomorrow
Enquiries into how technology-enabled design can shape cultural experiences
This exhibition presents enquiries into how technology-enabled design can shape cultural experiences. Through a series of outcomes, it showcases how designers experiment, craft and formulate ideas about how to perceive, view and imagine future communication and interaction through their practice.

Arising from a workshop exchange between LASALLE College of the Arts and Korea National University of Arts, the outcomes on display consider different cultural perspectives, emphasising the impact of cross-cultural values in the design process.

ReNeWorld–Navigating towards a better future
Through the works of ten BA (Hons) Interior Design students from the Class of 2024, LASALLE’s School of Spatial & Product Design presents an exhibition of socially and environmentally conscious projects, a theoretical vision of how good and thoughtful design can help to build a brighter future. The exhibition design is inspired by the form of a ship, a metaphor for how everyone is ‘in the same boat’ navigating the world towards a better tomorrow.

As a Matter of Fact
Reflecting on the theme ‘People of Design’, the exhibition highlights the importance of materiality, creativity and sustainability, making a stand against the individualistic consumerist culture we have grown complacent in. We have done this by casting a spotlight on material exploration in conjunction with art and design principles where material interplay is prioritised.

This investigation is put forward by the students of the BA (Hons) Product Design programme at LASALLE.
