LASALLE’s MA Creative Writing programme hosts writer and translator Tiffany Tsao, who will deliver a lecture titled, ‘The Distance Required—Rendering the Personal into Fiction’.

About the speaker

Tiffany Tsao has written three novels, and her most recent novel, The Majesties, was longlisted for the Ned Kelly Award in Australia. Her fourth novel, But Won’t I Miss Me, set in an alternate reality where mothers are killed and replaced by stronger versions of themselves, will be coming out in May 2026 with HarperVia.

Her translations of Indonesian fiction and poetry have been awarded the PEN Translation Prize and the NSW Premier’s Translation Prize, among others. She holds a PhD in English from UC-Berkeley and currently works as the deputy editor of the Sydney Review of Books.
