Fashion Show, The LASALLE ShowRewoven Ties explores the complex relationship between humans, technology and nature. It questions the meaning of personal relationships when technology plays a central role in shaping society, and our lives become more intertwined through online spaces.
This year's graduating BA (Hons) Fashion Design and Textiles students seek to reclaim these lost connections through their collections. Drawing inspiration from a diverse understanding of "motherland"—whether one's homeland, cultural heritage or the Earth itself—their designs reflect the need to reconnect with nature, family and tradition.
Over the last decade, fashion has embraced nature as a guiding force in its evolution, with sustainable production methods, circular design principles and eco-conscious retail models at the forefront of innovation. The graduation collections of the Class of 2025 highlight those practices through a lens of care, showcasing garments made from recycled materials, biodegradable fabrics, the emotional connection between weavers and garments, and eco-friendly dyes, highlighting the need to preserve the environment.
The show serves as a call to action, a reminder that while we live in a connected world, we are responsible for nurturing our relationships with nature, our heritage and each other.
