Being There With Them explores the role of virtual reality in fostering human connection and placemaking. Hyperreal avatars of the artist-designer, his close friends and family interact in a virtual home environment imbued with meaning.

This interactive solo exhibition by MA Design student Johan Groenewald is the result of a multiyear investigation into the influence of emerging technology on identity construction and communication.
