The seminar questions what the metaverse is and how merging of the physical and digital realms could become a reality for all of us in the future. But is this the way to go? Featuring a talk from a representative from Serial Co, a Singapore-based, inter-media, polymorphous creative art studio, the seminar shares creative tech experiences in navigating and building virtual spaces commercially while discussing what it all could mean for us moving forward.

About the speakers

Ernest Wu is the Creative Director and co-founder of Serial Co, a creative technology studio. He is a visual artist who uses photography and moving images to explore socio-spatial relationships across physical and virtual realities. His recent work include BIOSNFT (2022), Superposition (2021 – ongoing) and Loading loading (2021 – ongoing).

Jonathan Liu is a founding member of NFT Asia - an artist-led non-profit digital collective aimed at uplifting Asian and Asia-based artists. He graduated from London College of Communication with a BA in Photography and currently lectures at LASALLE College of the Arts.

About the seminar series Deep Dive into Emerging Tech

Deep Dive into Emerging Tech is organised by LASALLE's BA(Hons) Arts Management programme. It consists of four events aiming to explore such emerging technologies as blockchain, NFT and Metaverse to discuss and explore how they challenge, transform and innovate the contemporary arts ecosystem. Anyone interested in demystifying such buzzwords as NFT and Metaverse and better understand these phenomena is encouraged to book a seat and surface questions they have long wanted to ask.
