Picture Book Illustration
Explore the world of children’s book illustration with award-winning Singaporean Kid Lit author and illustrator Quek Hong Shin. A structured course that involves lectures, hands-on activities, sharing and critique, the course aims to be a comprehensive introduction to the creative process of creating picture books.
About the trainer
Quek Hong Shin is a Singaporean author and illustrator whose works include picture books like The Amazing Sarong, The Brilliant Oil Lamp, and Universe of Feelings. His titles were nominated twice for The Hedwig Anuar Children's Book Award. His work The Incredible Basket, published by Epigram Books, won Best Children's Book at the 2019 Singapore Book Awards.
Hong Shin has a Bachelor of Arts (Hons) in Graphic Design and has been active in promoting the local children's literature scene by conducting storytelling sessions and illustration workshops at schools, libraries and museums. He has been a trainer of the Picture Book Illustration course at LASALLE College of the Arts since 2020.
