Figure Drawing I, II & III

Go back to basics with this course on learning to draw the human form. You will study the human figure with an emphasis on observing proportion, volume and light with fundamental exercises in gesture, contour and lines.

Note: Classes will require you to observe a life nude model in drawing assignments. Applicants have to be strictly 18 years old and above.

The prerequisite for level II and above courses is the completion of the previous level or prior experience Applicants who wish to join level II and have prior experience in figure drawing (charcoal as the art medium) are required to submit art works for trainer’s review.

Applicants with no prior experience are encouraged to start from level I.

About the trainer
Steve Chua is a multidisciplinary artist whose practice spans drawing, painting, installation, photography and graphic design. A graduate of Goldsmiths, University of London and LASALLE College of the Arts, his artworks are collected by corporation and statutory boards in Singapore. 

Alongside numerous group and solo exhibitions, local and international, one of Steve’s notable works was Gastrogeography of Singapore, an artist collective multisensory interactive art installation that was showcased in Singapore Biennale 2016. Steve’s recent accolades include clinching one of the top positions in NUSS Paint a Portrait Project and BOE Art Prize 2020. His artistic journey embraces innovation and a profound connection with cultural heritage.
