Botanical Drawing & Painting I & II
Learn to create an aesthetically pleasing work of botanical art. You will practise line drawing, proportions and tonal studies to capture the essence of a plant. Lessons include relevant drawing demonstrations and a range of drawing techniques that includes observational study, contour drawing, capturing details, compositional studies and tonal value. Introduction to 3D Animation
Learn the basic skills in modelling, lighting and animation specifically for environment and characters. Using MAYA software, you will be introduced to polygon modelling and texturing to create rigging systems (controls) to animate a short film. Fashion Design: Implementation of Design Through Pattern Drafting
Fashion evolves, but the principles of pattern-making and cutting generally remain essentially unchanged. Join us and learn the craft of making a paper plan or template for a garment. This course helps to strengthen your foundation in self-drafted patterns from individual measurements that can be applied to varying fashion styles. The course does not involve sewing. Go back to basics with this course on learning to draw the human form. Manga Drawing: Magical Girls
Learn how to design and draw Japanese manga-style magical girls (mahou shoujo) in this course which combines drawing elements like line quality and proportions, with design elements like art style and concept. With the specific theme of magical girls, the course will also emphasise on ways to create beautiful, creative and feminine characters to tell a story. The teaching method is primarily experiential, with participants gaining hands-on practice of the art form with guidance from the instructor. Architecture III: Art and Architecture of the Kingdoms and Empires of Southeast Asia
Explore the great architectural monuments and art of Southeast Asia with a focus on Indonesia and Cambodia. This course will survey the ideas, philosophies, literature and religious beliefs that shaped artistic development and achievement in the region. Learn more about some of the most powerful and culturally rich kingdoms and empires led by local rulers who styled themselves as god-kings (dewa-rajas) following their conversion to Hinduism and/or Buddhism.
