Course details
‘Mindfulness for Life’ is an evidence-based, structured eight-week programme developed by the Oxford Mindfulness Foundation at the University of Oxford.
It is designed to help learners develop sustainable mindfulness practices that support mental well-being, emotional resilience and greater self-awareness in daily life. Drawing on principles of cognitive therapy and mindfulness meditation, it provides practical skills for recognising habitual patterns of mind, managing stress and responding more skilfully to life’s challenges.
Through guided meditations, gentle movement, cognitive exercises, group dialogue and daily home practice, you will gain practical tools to recognise unhelpful thought patterns, respond more skilfully to challenging emotions, and build resilience that supports long-term emotional balance and overall mental health. While it is not intended as a substitute for medical or psychological treatment of acute mental health conditions, the course can be a valuable complement to ongoing self-care.
Note: While enrolling in this course, you will be asked to complete a brief questionnaire before attending a short pre-course interview. This questionnaire helps the instructor learn about you, your current situation, and what you hope to gain from the course. The pre-course interview is an opportunity for you to ask any questions you may have about the course, ensure it is a good fit for you, and clarify expectations. The interview is informal and confidential, lasting around 10 to 20 minutes and held online or over the phone.
