The class will look at the essential principles that must be applied to write for the visual mediums of film and television. The syllabus will include originality, dramatic elements of a story, modern three- and four-act structures, the dramatic primacy of conflict and opposition, as well as theme and meaning. The Reformation and Counter-Reformation and how they influenced Baroque art in Protestant and Catholic countries will be highlighted in this course.
