About the trainer

Quek Hong Shin

Quek Hong Shin is a Singaporean author and illustrator whose works include picture books like The Amazing Sarong, The Brilliant Oil Lamp and Universe of Feelings. His titles were nominated twice for The Hedwig Anuar Children's Book Award. His work The Incredible Basket published by Epigram Books, won Best Children's Book at the 2019 Singapore Book Awards.

Hong Shin has a Bachelor of Arts (Hons) in Graphic Design and has been active in promoting the local children's literature scene by conducting storytelling sessions and illustration workshops at schools, libraries and museums. He has been a trainer of the Picture Book Illustration course at LASALLE College of the Arts since 2020.
