The Division of Partnerships & Engagement is seeking a highly driven individual with a passion for the arts and arts education to join us as Assistant Manager (Career Services). Reporting to the Director, you will design and deliver customised, discipline-specific career planning programmes for LASALLE.
Working closely with academic colleagues, you will ensure strong alignment with programme requirements and industry expectations, thereby strengthening student employability and enhancing graduate career readiness.
In addition, you will contribute to the University-wide career services supporting career events and activities, as required.
Your key responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:
- Design and deliver customised, discipline-specific career planning programmes, workshops and career clinics aligned with academic requirements and industry expectations.
- Provide individual and group career consultations, including targeted support for students with additional needs (e.g. international or at-risk students).
- Integrate industry trends, recruitment practices and professional standards into career guidance and programme content.
- Support students in entrepreneurship and self-employment pathways, including freelancing, project-based work, venture creation and basic business skills (e.g. IP, funding awareness).
- Build and maintain connections with industry professionals and experts, particularly in entrepreneurship and creative sectors.
- Gather feedback and evaluate the effectiveness of career programmes and continuously refine content and delivery approaches to improve employability outcomes.
This role is employed directly by the University of the Arts Singapore Limited.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field (eg. arts management, humanities, education) from an established university.
- At least five years of experience in career management and student employability in higher education institutions.
- Experience in developing enterprise and entrepreneurial skills in students.
- Knowledge of the arts and design industry, trends and employers in Singapore.
- Strong career consulting skills to run one-to-one mentorship meetings with students and young graduates.
- Strong facilitation and workshop planning and delivery skills with the ability to organise and run sophisticated programming.
- Excellent written and spoken communication skills, with a strong initiative generation and customer service skills.
- Ability to work across cultures with different stakeholders such as faculty, students and government agencies. Appreciation and sensitivity of arts and culture, and the development of young people through education is desirable.
- Proficient in digital tools for CV review, portfolio assessment and interview preparation.
- Familiar with online assessment and profiling tools, and basic survey tools and evaluation methods is an advantage.
