Vincent Leow

Vincent Leow is a distinguished artist and educator whose practice spans sculpture, installation, performance, painting and mixed media. A pioneer in Singapore’s contemporary art scene, he was an early member of The Artists Village, founded Plastique Kinetic Worms and co-founded the now-defunct Utopia. 

His works have been presented internationally, including representing Singapore at the 52nd Venice Biennale (2007), the 9th Indian Triennale in New Delhi (1997) and the 1st Asia Pacific Triennial in Brisbane (1993). Vincent curated Refrain (2024) at iPRECIATION Gallery, bringing together over 40 new works by Singaporean and Malaysian artists. His iconic sculpture Dream World (1990/2023) was showcased in See Me, See You at the National Gallery Singapore, reflecting on the impact of urban development on nature. 

Vincent was awarded the Culture Award (2002) by the Japanese Chamber of Commerce and Industry and received the Cultural Medallion in 2020, recognising his enduring contributions to the arts.
