ND Chow is a Singapore-born portrait photographer and film director based in Tokyo. After two years of travelling the world in search of experience and self-discovery, he relocated to Japan in 2000 to pursue photography. 

Over the past two decades, he has photographed a wide spectrum of subjects, from public figures to quiet unknowns, marked by an authenticity and intimacy that reveal emotional depth. His practice creates space for people to be seen beyond the surface, blending still and moving imagery with a poetic sensibility. 

Alongside photography, Chow directs short films and visual narratives for fashion, apparel and commercial brands, exploring identity, presence and transformation across portraiture, film and conceptual exhibitions. Whether through quiet gestures or the interplay of skin and cloth, Chow seeks to reveal the deeper truth that emerges when people are allowed to simply be.
